Dendrodoris carbunculosa (Kelaart, 1858) | |
Location: Coles Hole, Mooloolaba, Queensland Australia Size: 18 mm Depth: 18 m Temperature: 25 C |
ORDER: NUDIBRANCHIA white black |
Photos were taken 01-09-2007 and Identified as a juvenile Dendrodoris tuberculosa. After much thought and research I have decided to separate this animal and indentify it as above. D. carbunculosa is a separate recognised species and this animal fits the descriptions and matches the photos I have seen on other websites and printed material. One anatomical feature that makes me separate it is the black line on the ventral side between the foot and mantle. Another is the black flat areas on the mantle between the pustules. Plus there are no large white spots under the mantle. |
